Stained Glass Modern Art, "Amethyst" Kaleidoscope Gem Stone Collection by Kaleidoscope Artist Sue Rioux

The "Amethyst" kaleidoscope is part of Sue's revered gem stone collection. The pretty exterior is made of a dark and light-colored, swirled shades of cranberry and purple stained glass that is fused together by copper coated lead free solder. Sue uses Italian glass rods and one specially designed glass jewel on the top of all of her kaleidoscopes, showing her attention to every detail. The bottom of this kaleidoscope has four feet on which the kaleidoscope stands. The turning end "barrel" has shades of purple, dichroic and mirrored glass pieces in oil. These glass pieces make the rich shades and unexpected flashes of brilliance that are seen inside this kaleidoscope. The underside of the kaleidoscope is signed, dated and named "Sue Rioux 2022 'Amethyst'." You would be proud to own this kaleidoscope.

The total length of the Amethyst Kaleidoscope is 6 1/2". The barrel stands 1 1/2" and is 1 1/2" wide. The cell is 2 1/4" long and 1 1/2" in diameter. The interior has a 3 mirror system that looks into an oil filled cell filled with trinkets and dichroic pieces.
